Production
We operate two Production areas at Prolife Foods; the "Green" room and the "Blue" room. The "Green" room is dedicated to the making of our Mother Earth Fruit Sticks, Mother Earth Oaty Slice bars and Mother Earth Nutty Slices. The "Blue" room is where we roast (wet and dry) our delicious nuts to perfection, and blend and pack our various other product ranges.
We are one of New Zealand's largest nut roasters (we roast all our own nuts on a daily basis), as well as produce different nut and snack blends, and different flavoured nuts.
We have the capability to pack into various sizes and types of bags, i.e. from pouches to 5 Kg bags down to 20 gm bags.
Our production capability means that we not only manufacture for ourselves but also undertake contract pack for other companies, and perform Private Label manufacturing for the two major supermarket chains.
Our usual shift pattern is two shifts, 5 days a week, however, flexibility is important to complement demand and seasonal peaks - especially from October through to December.
We have implemented various "lean manufacturing" principles i.e. 5'S (Sift, Sort, Sweep, Signpost, Standardise) and 7 Waste's (Over production, Inventory, Waiting, Transportation, Motion, Processing, Rework) into our Production areas to date.
